20 professions serving consumers

Driver specialising in refrigerated transport

Our drivers specialise in transporting perishable goods, particularly fruit and vegetables, using vehicles equipped with refrigeration systems. They oversee basic vehicle maintenance, compliance with safety standards and the documentation needed to monitor temperatures and regulatory compliance. What’s their role? Connecting agricultural know-how from production areas to consumption areas on a daily basis. They take pride in ensuring that consumers' fridges and plates are stocked with beautiful fruit and vegetables. Our drivers have several options available to them: long-distance, short-distance or direct to the heart of the farm to pick up precious produce.

Driver specialising in dry goods transport

Drivers specialising in dry goods transport manage the delivery of non-perishable products in strict compliance with safety and regulatory standards. They plan their routes efficiently, maintain their vehicles and supervise the loading and unloading of goods. These professionals maintain clear communication with dispatchers and customers, while managing the necessary transport documents. Their flexibility and commitment to quality customer service are key to ensuring on-time, reliable deliveries.

Dock supervisor

The dock manager is responsible for managing operations on the loading and unloading dock in a warehouse or distribution centre. Depending on the platform in question, you'll need to be more or less athletic, as you need to everywhere at once. This includes overseeing the receipt, storage and shipping of goods, while ensuring that processes are efficient and safe. The dock manager coordinates dock teams, optimises work schedules and ensures the efficient use of equipment such as forklift trucks and pallets. Like all Group employees, they are responsible for maintaining high standards of quality and regulatory compliance, while working closely with the administrative teams to continually improve workflows and respond effectively to customer requirements. The dock manager’s ability to manage emergencies and make quick decisions is essential to the smooth running of the dock on a day-to-day basis.

Dock agent

Reporting to the Dock Manager, the dock agent is responsible for allocating or consolidating goods, distributing arrivals and loading lorries before they leave. Like all the Group's employees, they have the almost sacred role of ensuring flawless service quality. Their responsibilities include ensuring that goods are properly secured for transport, managing shipping documents and receiving cargo. They must follow strict safety protocols to minimise the risk of accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Their ability to work as part of a team is essential in keeping the platform's operations running smoothly.

Forklift operator

The forklift operator is the elite pilot in the warehouse, manoeuvring their forklift with the precision of a surgeon and the grace of a dancer. Under his skilful control, the pallets move from point A to point B without ever touching the ground, as if by magic. This logistics maestro ensures that every product is placed with care, whether it’s in storage or in preparation for shipment. Their role is crucial: the forklift operator keeps the warehouse organised and efficient, while adding a touch of flair to the art of handling. With a smile under their helmet, the forklift operator is driven by the knowledge that every day is a new opportunity to "raise" expectations.

Fleet Manager

The Fleet Manager is a bit like the in-house car dealer. They are responsible for the maintenance and regulatory compliance of the vehicle fleet. They plan maintenance, monitor compulsory technical inspections, and ensure the optimum use of vehicles to avoid unproductive downtime.

Order picker

Working predominantly on our logistics sites, order pickers are responsible for collecting together and preparing products for dispatch. To do this, they follow precise picking procedures to ensure that the right products are sent to the right customers. Depending on the site, the picker may be required to: • Receive, identify, put away and dispatch goods. • Manage priorities and unforeseen events. • Ensure that pallets are monitored and that there are no transport-related disputes. • Comply with safety instructions and quality monitoring. • Participate in the continuous improvement of the service.

Site Manager

The Site Manager supervises all operations at a warehouse or logistics site, ensuring that processes are efficient and compliant. They are the captain, and the transport or logistics site is their playground. They coordinate supply chain activities, manage teams, optimise workflows and, almost most importantly, ensure that safety and quality standards are maintained. But they are not solely responsible, as they collaborate with other departments and sites to continually improve performance and adapt to changes in the market. The Site Manager role is crucial to overall success, directly influencing productivity and customer satisfaction.

Salesperson

The Transport or Logistics Salesperson is responsible for acquiring new customers and managing existing accounts. In our case, in order to offer each customer a tailored solution, the salesperson needs to be familiar with the basics of transport and logistics. This is a precision industry, and requires a thorough understanding of the ins and outs. The good news is that, if you're willing, you can quickly learn the ropes. This role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills and an interest in the world of transport and the Group's customers.

Sales Manager

This is the salesperson who's got the edge. The Transport Sales Manager leads the sales team and defines strategies to achieve objectives. They analyse market trends, establish key relationships with customers and oversees their team’s training and development.

After-Sales Service Manager

The After-Sales Service (AS) Manager in the transport and logistics sector manages customer complaints and ensures quality follow-up for any service-related questions or problems. They implement processes to respond quickly to customer requests and improve customer satisfaction. If there is one essential quality in this position, it's the ability to listen. The goods entrusted to us by a customer are important, and we need to understand what is at stake. There's a solution to every problem, and it's up to you to find it if you take on this role!

Operator

The Operator in a transport and logistics company organises and supervises the day-to-day transport of goods. In the past, this was done on a printed detailed map hung on the wall. Today, supported by the best technologies, the operator plans routes, coordinates drivers, vehicles and loads, and ensures that all deliveries meet deadlines and regulations. They play a key role in the organisation to ensure the efficiency and compliance of transport operations. There are different types of operator at Primever. The collection operator manages the resources needed to collect products from producers, packagers, cooperatives or wholesale markets. The traction operator manages the consolidation and dispatch of the collected products to France and Europe.

Operations Manager

The Operations Manager coordinates the operational activities of a transport company, ensuring that everything runs like clockwork. Reporting to the Site Manager, they supervise the operators, the dock and the after-sales service, ensuring that operations are efficient and that every customer is served at express service speed! Armed with humour and seriousness, they successfully turn logistical challenges into successes, playing a key role in maintaining productivity and customer satisfaction. Their talent for management ensures that guidelines and performance go hand in hand.

Customs Expert

The customs expert plays a key role in international transport by ensuring customs operations compliance. Thanks to their knowledge and expertise, French kiwis and apples can be found all over the world. And it’s also thanks to them that food and non-food products pass through every port and airport in the world. They master customs regulations and clearance procedures, facilitating the rapid and legal passage of goods across borders. Their main responsibilities include preparing and checking the documents required for import and export, correctly classifying goods on the basis of the customs tariff, and managing interactions with the customs authorities.

Recruitment officer, HR department

If you join us, it's probably because one of our recruitment officers could see what you had to offer! Their day-to-day work involves managing the entire recruitment process, from defining needs in collaboration with the various departments through to onboarding new recruits. Depending on the region, the recruitment officer may work alone or as part of a department. Their responsibilities include writing and publishing job offers, conducting interviews, assessing skills and negotiating job offers. The recruitment officer also uses online recruitment platforms and social networks to source the best talent. In internal communications, the recruitment officer works with the communications department to disseminate messages and organise events. Externally, they are the guarantor of the employer's image. They will progress to a position as HR Manager within a territory or as part of the Group's support services.

Management Controller

The Management Controller in the transport sector is essential for ensuring the financial health of the company. They monitor and analyse the company's economic performance, focusing on cost optimisation and transport operation efficiency. We're not going to lie to you, you need to like numbers and Excel too. This is a strategic role that complements that of the DATA teams, since the management controller carries out detailed analyses to identify discrepancies between forecasts and actuals, proposes corrective measures and supports strategic decisions. What do we appreciate most in a management controller? Their ability to provide precise, actionable insights to guide the company towards sustainable growth. Our management controllers manage territories or activities, and can progress to the position of Management Control Manager.

Quality Manager

Let's dispel the myth: do our quality managers taste all the products that pass through our platforms? No. In the case of our fruit and vegetable platforms, that's a shame, but imagine a logistics site with washing machines... However, the role of the quality manager is to ensure that the goods entrusted to us are processed to the highest possible quality and in compliance with strict specifications. This is our responsibility. To do this, the QM ensures that all aspects of logistics and transport comply with established quality standards. They implement quality control policies, carry out audits and work closely with the sites to guarantee the quality of services

Data Analyst

The Data Analyst in the dry goods or fruit and vegetable transport sector analyses large quantities of logistics data to optimise routes, reduce costs and improve overall efficiency. They use statistical tools and visualisation software to interpret operational data, prepare detailed reports and support strategic decisions. Their ability to transform raw data into actionable information is essential for the continuous improvement of transport processes.

Data Scientist

Data Scientists in the dry goods or fruit and vegetable transport sectors apply machine learning models and statistical algorithms to predict trends and solve complex transport or logistics problems. Working within a Data department, they have the important task of helping Primever to chart new transport paths. Particularly those that incorporate artificial intelligence. They work on optimising routes, forecasting demand and improving customer satisfaction. This role requires strong programming and statistical analysis skills to develop innovative solutions that transform transport operations in France and Europe.

Project Support Manager

The Project Support Manager in transport or logistics manages projects linked to information systems and the digitalisation of processes. They act as an intermediary between the end-users and the technical teams, ensuring that the solutions developed meet operational needs and improve efficiency. And when you consider that the Group's IT team is made up of over 40 people and just as many in-house software packages developed to meet the specific needs of each business line, that's a lot of work! Between the specifications, planning, budget, training, user communication and deployment, there's a lot of fun to be had in transport.

Developer

A developer in transport and logistics? Yes, and not just one! At the wheel of their keyboard and armed with lines of code, they help to ensure that a tomato from Marmande sits proudly on a stall in Strasbourg, or that an onion from Roscoff graces a salad in Bordeaux. Developers in the transport sector create and maintain software applications that are essential to the day-to-day work of all our teams. They work on warehouse management systems (WMS), fleet and transport management systems (TMS) and even administrative applications for HR and fleet management departments. Their ability to speak several languages and to program in several digital languages is crucial for incorporating new functionalities and maintaining the reliability of existing systems.

A company that leads the way

It was in the 1990s that Rémy Garnier, the father of the current CEO, had the crazy idea of talking about CSR by launching the first in-house label, “Etic Company”. At that point in time, he was already convinced that it was vital to think about tomorrow and how to rethink our impact. A few decades later, this is a reality at every level of the company. New professions have emerged and new technologies are helping us to meet our ambitious targets for reducing our impact. Come and find out how we do it.

  2. Our teams will process your application within 15 days.
  3. We will contact you for an initial face-to-face or video interview, depending on your availability.
  4. Great!
